Roddy Lakin

 

Roddy Lakin was born in 1950 on the Isle of Lewis and was brought up there and in the industrial Midlands. A graduate of Aberdeen University, he now lives and works in Edinburgh.

 

Although still life painting is his artistic passion, his portraits and landscapes also show the main inspirations for his work which are the French Impressionists and the Scottish Colourists.

 

A solo exhibition is held annually and his work has been exhibited in several galleries including Flaubert, Di Rollo and Gold in Edinburgh and the Morven Gallery in Lewis. Corporate collections in which his work feature include Tremmel Properties and Fletcher Jones Recruitment. His work is also in private collections in France and Spain, as well as throughout the United Kingdom.
